Ex-Breitbart Editor Ben Shapiro On Trump: He’s “Like A Sharknado, Except With Poop”

Ex-Breitbart Editor Ben Shapiro On Trump: He’s “Like A Sharknado, Except With Poop”

Now, there is a lot one can say about Ben Shapiro. He’s an arrogant, obnoxious, sneering, gay-hatin’, race-baitin’, faux-moralist little pissant. However, to his credit, he was also principled enough to stand with his colleague and friend Michelle Fields when his then-employer, Breitbart, threw her under the bus to appease the Trump campaign. He, along with several others, quit over the publication’s treatment of Fields, with him labeling the site “Trump’s personal Pravda.”

Well, apparently we can also describe Shapiro as a comedian now. After news hit that his ex-boss, Breitbart News chief Steve Bannon, had joined Donald Trump’s campaign as CEO, making the Breitbart-Trump merger official, Shapiro appeared on CNN to discuss the story. Considering his strong dislike for Trump and the way he set the entire bridge ablaze upon exiting Breitbart, one had to know that he was going to have some strong opinions, especially considering he had just written a column blasting Bannon over the move prior to his appearance.

Speaking to host Brianna Keilar, Shapiro first noted that Bannon joining the Trump staff would probably be a benefit to the GOP nominee. Essentially, the Breitbart head is going to just tell The Donald to double down on his buffoonery and attack Hillary Clinton even harder. In Shapiro’s opinion, this is something Trump wants to do, so he’ll go about it with ease.

After complaining about how the Trumpbart merger essentially takes away any complaints conservatives would have of a liberal media bias, Shapiro gave his real thoughts on Trump.

“As you probably know, I think Donald Trump is a turd tornado, but I also know that he has no capacity whatsoever to control himself and be the sort of staid politician that so many people want him to be…So, telling him to double down is not necessarily terrible strategy. If he’s going to go down, he’s going to go down being Trump.”

Keilar, likely thinking she misheard him, asked him what “tornado” he was referring to. “A turd tornado,” Shapiro helpfully pointed out. For some reason, Keilar pressed on, wanting to know exactly what that is. The conservative writer’s answer: “Well, it’s like a Sharknado, except with poop.” Well, Brianna, you DID ask!

After the CNN host covered her face with her notes while Shapiro flashed a shit-eating grin, they were able to compose themselves to finish the interview. Shapiro continued to slam both Trump and Bannon, revealing that his former site was a shell of what it was under its founder and that Bannon is a “jerk” who was more interested in kissing the ass of people in power than defending his own employees.
