“They Want Me Dead!”: Bill O’Reilly Plays Victim After Backlash Over Slavery Comments

If there is one certainty in life, it is that Angry White Dudes believe they are the most targeted, most victimized, most put upon people in this country. And they are never, ever, EVER wrong.

After Fox News host Bill O’Reilly faced widespread mockery over insisting on his Tuesday night broadcast that slaves who built the White House were “well fed” and generally content, Papa Bear took to the airwaves Wednesday night to lash out at his critics. In his mind, media outlets quoting what he said was all part of a liberal conspiracy with the end result being his death.

No, That isn’t an exaggeration. O’Reilly said that “these people” want to see him “literally dead.”

First, he used his ‘Talking Points’ segment to go after those who ridiculed his initial commentary, telling his audience that he was “100% accurate” in describing the good working conditions and ample food provided to the slaves at that time. Now, nevermind that he was essentially trying to twist Michelle Obama’s Monday night speech around to make it appear that the slaves really didn’t have it that bad. Bill-O wanted everyone to know that it was defamation for anyone to say he was defending or being soft on slavery.

Below is video of the segment, courtesy of Fox News:

Following up his commentary, O’Reilly devoted more time to himself by bringing on two of his colleagues to defend him. With Eric Bolling slurping him, Bill ranted about the liberal smear merchants who are trying to bring him and all of Fox News down. He specifically pointed to Media Matters, the liberal media watchdog who has spent more than a decade highlighting conservative bias and misinformation in the media.

According to O’Reilly, by Media Matters merely posting video and a transcript of the segment, they are provoking far-left radicals to hunt him down and kill him. (One has to love the irony of the guy behind Tiller the Baby Killer claiming media organizations are urging violence.) Bill also told his fellow Fox bros that they had to stick together and attack all of these smear merchants.

“I think the time has come now, where this whole network is going to have to band together, all of us, and we are going to have to call out the people who are actively trying to destroy this network, by using lies and deception and propaganda. We’re going to have to start to call them out by name, because that’s how bad it’s become.

You saw — you saw the provocations, and that’s what I reported on, the racial provocations. And then we see black men killing cops. Now, cause and effect? You can’t do it 100 percent, but certainly you can discuss cause and effect. I’m afraid it’s going to happen with Fox News. Geraldo gets water dumped on him, what if somebody hit him in the head with a club?

Our reporters can’t go out on the floor? Jesse Watters goes on the floor of the Democratic Convention, and some photographer comes up and starts swearing at him and cursing at him right in his face? This is provocation. These people are doing this. They want me dead, Bolling, literally dead.”

This has been another thrilling episode of Angry White Dudes Are The Real Victims.
