Jon Stewart On Trump: “Are You Eligible To Run If You Are A Man-Baby, Or A Baby-Man?”

We here at Contemptor posed the question a few months ago, “Where have you gone, Jon Stewart?”, in the hopes that the former Daily Show host and political satirist would emerge from his self-imposed exile and save us during this dreadful election season. Sure, there had been rumblings that we would see content from Stewart after he inked a deal with HBO, but outside of some Punxsutawney Phil-ish appearances, we were still left wanting.

Well, we finally got a dose of some good ol’ fashioned Jon Stewart acerbic wit on Monday, as the comedian appeared on David Axelrod’s podcast, The Axe Files. According to Politico, the 53-year-old ripped presumptive Republican nominee and STD-infected circus peanut Donald Trump.

At one point, Stewart wondered if Trump was even eligible for the White House:

“I’m not a constitutional scholar, so I can’t necessarily say, but are you eligible to run if you are a man-baby, or a baby-man? He has the physical countenance of a man and a baby’s temperament and hands.”

The comedic legend also took The Donald to task over his ‘Make America Great Again’ slogan:

“When was America great? What is this time that he speaks of? ’81 to ’82? Like what are we talking about? And who took your country away from you?”

While he did have some criticism for Hillary Clinton, labeling her as disingenuous, and the Democratic Party, for being weak-willed in terms of providing a counterbalance to the GOP’s increased extremism, he still noted that Hillary would get his vote. “That is not to say that she is not preferable to Donald Trump because, at this point, I would vote for Mr. T over Donald Trump,” he said.

Beyond that, he also shredded the media, specifically cable news, for the way it has covered this election season and specifically Trump. Being ever the expert, considering his time spent on TDS, Stewart pointed out that 24-hour news outlets end up giving more coverage to the loudest and most divisive voices. Basically, the more extreme and angry you are, the more time you’re given.

Hopefully, we will see and hear from Stewart more and more as we near Election Day. (HBO has promised that we will.) His is a voice that we desperately need right now.
