Cruz Endorses Anti-LGBT Law: “Men Should Not Be Going To The Bathroom With Little Girls”

Sen. Ted Cruz, Republican White House hopeful and wax-faced mass soup buyer, weighed in on the recent law passed in North Carolina that prohibits transgender people from using public restroom and other facilities that align with their gender identities. Speaking to MSNBC’s Chuck Todd at a taped town hall event Thursday, the Texas Senator made sure all the Jesus-y people who can’t get enough Jesus in their Jesus-loving lives knew that he hated him some gays, lesbians, trans and other queer folks.

“I’m a constitutionalist. And the state has the power to pass their own laws,” Cruz told “Meet the Press” host Chuck Todd during a taped MSNBC town hall in Buffalo, New York — a city that has had a nondiscrimination ordinance protecting transgender people since 2002. The Texas senator appeared to reject the idea that a person’s gender identity could ever be in conflict with the sex assigned to that person at birth — as is the case for transgender people.

“As the father of daughters, I’m not terribly excited about men being able to go alone into a bathroom with my daughters,” Cruz said to cheers. “And I think that’s a perfectly reasonable determination for the people to make.”

One, you always have to love that whenever any conservative justifies their bigotry, they always point to one of two things — the Constitution and the Bible. It’s either, “I’m a Christian,” or “That’s what the Founding Fathers wanted.”

Two, man is Cruz one craven motherfucker. In this instance, he’s using his kids — once again — as a cudgel to beat back any criticism he’ll get for his support of this obviously discriminatory law. Basically, he’s all “I’m a father to these cute young girls and I just don’t want to see them or any sweet angels attacked by some crazy predator in a dress!” Of course, there is no instance of that happening, and this is all a way to push back against the advancement of equal rights for the LGBT community, but as long as you say “What about the children?!?!?,” it’s all good.

Now, we just wait to see what Donald Trump has to say about this. John Kasich has already stated that he wouldn’t have signed the bill if he it came across his desk. (But, don’t worry, he is still good, gay-fearin’ Christian. Just ask him!) Considering Trump is the KING PANDERER OF ALL PANDERERS, especially when it comes to evangelicals, I’m sure he’ll say something supremely stupid and ill-conceived.

Meanwhile, musicians, entertainers and businesses continue to boycott the state over the law.
