Marco Rubio: We Shouldn’t Just Be Closing Down Mosques. We Need To Close EVERYTHING!

Marco Rubio: We Shouldn’t Just Be Closing Down Mosques. We Need To Close EVERYTHING!

In the aftermath of the Paris terror attack, the Republicans running for the White House have all tripped over each other trying to provide that they are the most concerned with our national security. For the most part, that has led to them finding new ways to demonize all Muslims and spread as much needless fear as they can. All the while, they’ve had to remain cognizant of the fact that they have Donald Trump and Ben Carson to contend with, meaning that crazy shit will lead the news cycle and they’ll need to either react or toss out their own special brand of bat guano.

Over the past couple of days, Trump has responded to the threat of terrorist attacks by ISIS calling on the shutdown of mosques in America and the registry of all Muslims in a national database. The reality TV star and Republican Presidential frontrunner, in an allusion to Nazi Germany’s treatment of Jews, would also like those of the Islamic faith to wear special badges. With The Donald once again sucking up all the oxygen due to his quasi-fascist comments, fellow GOP candidate Marco Rubio was asked to respond during an appearance on Fox News’ The Kelly File.

It appears that Rubio tried — and failed — to walk a fine line when it comes to presenting himself as a truly serious candidate with very serious ideas while simultaneously letting Tea Partiers know that he hates himself some MOOSLIMS. Knowing that Trump’s base is of the mouth-breathing scared-of-all-brown-people variety, and Trump leads the GOP pack, he didn’t want to risk alienating any of them. Therefore, he presented this fucked up answer where he essentially said we need to live in a locked-down state from now on. (Emphasis added.)

It’s not about closing down mosques. It’s about closing down any place — whether it’s a cafe, a diner, an internet site — any place where radicals are being inspired. The bigger problem we have is our inability to find out where these places are, because we’ve crippled our intelligence programs, both through unauthorized disclosures by a traitor, in Edward Snowden, or by some of the things this president has put in place with the support even of some from my own party to diminish our intelligence capabilities.

So whatever facility is being used — it’s not just a mosque — any facility that’s being used to radicalize and inspire attacks against the United States, should be a place that we look at.

Talk about shooting oneself in the dick. In an effort to present what he thought would be a reasoned, security-first remark regarding surveillance and terrorist threats, Rubio instead presented the idea that the United States needs to constantly spy on its citizens and close down anything the government deems suspicious because FREEDOM. When reading it, underneath its surface, this is worse than almost anything Trump or Carson has said in the past months.

Likely, Rubio’s shitty performance on Fox Thursday night inspired Ted Cruz and Jeb Bush to actually distance themselves from Trump on Friday morning.

Anyway, if you wanna see a grown man running for President proclaim his love for a totalitarian state, below is video of the segment, courtesy of Fox News:
