Fox Contributor Says We Need To “Stop Worrying About People’s Rights” Regarding Muslims

Monday represented Fox News’ first full weekday on the air since the horrific terror attack on Paris Friday night. The network decided to use the day to do a few different things — directly blame President Obama for the attack, complain that he won’t say “radical Islam,” advocate for an all-out war in the Middle East and spread xenophobic fear about Muslims. Therefore, we were treated with all kinds of vile and hateful rhetoric about Syrian refugees, combined with a heaping dose of saber rattling.

Following up on an entire day of Fox-style right-wing propaganda, Sean Hannity took to his evening show to provide the nightcap. At one point, Sean brought on former NYPD detective and walking thumb Bo Dietl to discuss the handling of hostage situations in terror attacks and the surveillance of “radical mosques” and how that can help stop future terror plots. As one would imagine with these two, the conversation slipped into the ultra-jingoistic and quasi-fascist quite quickly.

After Hannity had said that the intelligence community is warning us that we are going to be killed by Muslims in this country but our namby-pamby Commander-In-Chief won’t do shit about shit, Dietl responded with this amazing little gem trashing the First Amendment.

“We broke so many, so many plots by eavesdropping on these radical Mosques. We’ve got to do it again. And let’s stop worrying about people’s rights.”

And there it is folks. As much as the right is all about the Constitution and freedom and the American way, this is really what it boils down to. Freedom for me but not for thee. If you ain’t white, you ain’t right.

This shit is going to get a whole lot worse over the coming weeks and months.
