Ben Carson Goes Full Cry Baby During CNN Interview, Whines About Liberal Media “Garbage”

Over the past few weeks, the Republican Party and its candidates for the White House have decided to push all in on a ‘blame the liberal media’ strategy. Reaching fever pitch during and immediately following CNBC’s chaotic GOP debate, the right believes that going full Sarah Palin and whining about the lamestream media and how unfair it is to conservatives is a winning move. One of the biggest proponents and practitioners of this plan is retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson, who is facing more and more scrutiny from the press due to his standing atop the Republican polls.

During an interview Friday with CNN, Carson decided to not only bellyache about the liberal media’s coverage of him over the past few days, but to also present himself as a total victim, tearing a page directly out of the Palin playbook. Showing more emotion than anyone has ever seen from the sleepy-eyed doctor, Carson pushed back against CNN’s recent report on claims he made in his autobiography and subsequent speeches regarding his violent childhood past. The surging GOP candidate also fought with interviewer Alisyn Camerota when she brought up previous quotes of his.

When Camerota spoke to Carson about the discrepancies they’ve found in his stories about his teenage years, specifically in that nobody from his high school can corroborate them, the good doctor did what Republicans cornered by the media always do — play the victim. He claimed that all of the scrutiny of his past and comments he has made is “garbage” and is just being used to fit into a liberal narrative. The Presidential hopeful also said that the media didn’t vet then-Senator Obama this much back in 2008, apparently forgetting all of the Rev. Wright and secret Muslim stuff that occurred that election season.

However, the worst part of the whole interview may have come when Camerota played a clip of Carson saying many Americans are stupid during a speech he made last year. She asked him to explain his remarks, and in typical Carson mode, he spewed out an incoherent bunch of gibberish about social programs and how the stupid people are the ones pushing welfare and food stamps. However, when Camerota tried to repeat and clarify what he had just said, Carson lashed out at her, saying she was putting words in his mouth. He also incredulously yelled out that he couldn’t believe she used to work for Fox News.

This led to Camerota bringing up another crazy comment Carson made in that same speech, one in which he said America would be Cuba if we didn’t have Fox News. She then asked him if he meant we’d be a communist country if it weren’t for the network. Once again, Carson blew up, stating that Camerota was putting words in his mouth and misconstruing what he had said. The CNN host shot back, pointing out that she wasn’t just repeating his quotes, but actually playing footage of his speeches where he said these things. Yet, Carson claimed she just wasn’t getting what he was trying to say, and that she might be one of those stupid people that wants America to be like Cuba.

And the lengthy interview just went on and on like this. Of course, conservatives will look at this interview and go, “Good job, Ben! You showed that LIBRUL media what’s what!” However, you’d hope at least semi-lucid people would see this and say, “What the fuck is wrong with that man? And why is he running for President?!?!”
